About the Show:
A group of young people from all walks of life form a community through storytelling, camaraderie, love, and celebration. Based on the Gospel of Matthew, this popular rock musical is updated to present day through exciting new musical arrangements from the 2012 Broadway revival.

Meet the Cast

  • Griffin Shoemaker (Jesus)

    Griffin makes his Fort Salem Theater debut in Godspell. He has performed across the country in RENT (Mark), Les Miserables (Marius), Bright Star (Jimmy Ray), The Last 5 Years (Jamie), Newsies (Spot Conlon), Spring Awakening (Ernst), American Idiot (Johnny), and as Mabel in Bryan Knowlton’s gender-bent production of The Pirates of Penzance. Griffin received his BFA in musical theater from Montclair State University, and plays piano, guitar, ukulele, and bass.

  • Zach Kaiser (Judas/John the Baptist)

    Zach returns to Fort Salem Theater after appearing in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oberon), You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Schroeder), Spring Awakening (Melchior), and Snow Business. Zach has also appeared locally in Schenectady Light Opera Company productions of Violet (Flick), Dog Sees God (Van), and First Date (Waiter). Additional stage credits include West Side Story (Bernardo), Shrek the Musical (Donkey), Love’s Labour’s Lost the Musical (King), and Avenue Q (Nicky). This May, Zach will also appear as Tulsa in Not So Common Players’ production of Gypsy!

  • Katherine Danforth-Hayes (“Learn Your Lessons Well” Soloist)

    Katherine is a Hoosick Falls native and a graduate of SUNY Potsdam. She appeared in Fort Salem Theater productions of Pride and Prejudice (Mr Bennet/Charlotte), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Lysander), and most recently Into the Woods (Cinderella’s Mother). Other acting credits include Twelfth Night (Olivia), Othello (Cassio), Peter and the Starcatcher (Mrs Bumbrake), A Box of Monkeys (Mrs Ondego-Jones), and All’s Well That Ends Well (Lafew) at Hubbard Hall in Cambridge. She has directed many teen and youth productions, including James and the Giant Peach Jr., Spoon River Anthology, And Then There Were None, Cinderella, Bugsy Malone, The Wizard of Oz, Little Women, Into the Woods, Oliver!, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, The Play That Goes Wrong, and The Addams Family.

  • Tara Fox (“Day By Day” soloist)

    Tara recently made her Fort Salem Theater debut as Sleeping Beauty in Into The Woods, where she understudied six additional character. In the Capital Region, she has performed with Home Made Theater (The Sound of Music, Nunsense, and Young Frankenstein), SLOC (The Wedding Singer), Glens Falls Community Theater (Urinetown), LAGS (Avenue Q, P-Town), and Not So Common Players (Nice Work if You Can Get It). When Tara is not on stage, she loves dressing up as a princess with Hill City Ice Queen Princess Parties. Tara loves being able to play Rapunzel, Anna, Ariel, Cinderella, and Tinkerbell with HCIQ and attending various events in the area.

  • Ryan Fuchs (“We Beseech Thee” soloist”)

    Ryan is originally from Spokane, Washington, and moved to the Albany area in 2018 after spending 10 years living in Washington, DC. He made his FST last season as Rocky in The Rocky Horror Show. Other recent stage works include a run of Grand Horizons as Tommy and Long Lost as Jeremy at Curtain Call Theater in Latham, NY. He also worked on Fly at the Capital Repertory Theatre as Shaw, and Ordinary Days at Schenectady Light Opera Company as an understudy for Jason and Warren. Past theater credits have included roles as Rolf in The Sound of Music, Simon in Jekyll & Hyde, and others. Ryan works full-time as the COO of a tech startup, he is also a diy-er, and a fitness enthusiast.

  • Ian McQueen (“All Good Gifts” soloist)

    Ian is a New York-based television and theater producer who recently came Upstate to produce Beethoven: Live in Concert at FST. His most recent NYC theater projects include the MAC Award-winning series “Cabaret on the Couch,” which has welcomed over 200 performers and supported 22 organizations in four years. He also served as the producer on “Blood on My Mother’s Apron” and “Little Egg, Big World” with Broadway Bound Theatre Festival, and “Beethoven: Live in Concert” at The Green Room 42, featuring Lexi Lawson, Gabriella Pizzolo, and Michael Lee Brown. Ian serves as the managing producer of Kitchen Sink Theatre Company, a NYC-based collective with a focus on producing theatre by and for emerging LGBTQ artists. HIs onscreen projects include Max’s “Bama Rush” and Food Network’s “The Kitchen,” in addition to content for Discovery Channel, Vice Media, and Strayer University.

  • Megan Morse (“Bless the Lord” soloist)

    Megan is thrilled to be back at Fort Salem after playing Columbia in The Rocky Horror and Lucinda in Into the Woods! Other favorite roles include Veronica Sawyer in Heathers, Cathy in The Last Five Years, Suzy in The Marvelous Wonderettes, Cindy Lou in The Marvelous Wonderettes, and Sally in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. Megan wishes to dedicate this and every performance to her mother, Kathleen who inspired both her and her sisters love of musical theater.

  • Edgar Ritchie (“Light of the World” soloist)

    Edgar [he/they] is a recent graduate from SUNY Adirondack with an Associate’s degree in Independent Studies, focusing on both theater and English. He spent a year at SUNY Albany, performing in the Musical Theatre Association’s production of Heathers (Ms. Fleming) while he was there. Stage credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Judah), Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (Georgeanne), and A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Christmas Present). He made his FST debut in 2021 as a soloist at Salem Under The Stars, and recently created the role of Prince Lichnowsky in Beethoven: Live in Concert.

  • Megan Stacey (“By My Side” soloist)

    SHE/HER | Megan Stacey is a local arts educator, director, performer, and creative consultant. She works across the Capital Regions non-profits, including: The School of the Arts at SPAC, The Arts Center of the Capital Region, The Saratoga Arts Center, Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, The World Awareness Children’s Museum, and the Albany Public Library System. Through her work, she has the privilege of creating art alongside people with physical and intellectual disabilities, youth in the group home/ foster care system, and individuals experiencing homelessness. From running Dungeons and Dragons sessions, to giving ghost tours, and singing across the state with her father, she has figured out how to be "professionally fun". With her work as a creative consultant, she has taken on Artist Residencies and partnered with non-profits and communities to organize $50,000 fundraisers, music festivals, seasonal immersive experiences, and sold-out events and tours across the country. She is a SUNY Purchase graduate, from which she received several awards for her Direction and Production of the world's first AI-generated children's musical: A Robot Wrote This. During her time at Purchase, she was busy directing and performing in many shows, including: Stop Kiss (Director), The Skriker (Director), No Strings (Director), Macbeth (Director), Hand to God (Director), True West (Director), and Gunshot/Doorslam (Hedda Gabbler). As a Director, she has worked regionally on both professional and youth productions including: You're A Good Man Charlie Brown (Fort Salem), The Little Mermaid (Fort Salem), and She Kills Monsters (Saratoga Children's Theatre). As a performer, she has appeared regionally in: Spring Awakening (Fort Salem- Martha), The Pirates of Penzance (Fort Salem- Pirate), Xanadu (Spa City Theatre- Melpomone), The Art of Remembering (Park Theatre- Becky), and in NYC as The Duchess in the immersive production of the 20 Most Fascinating People at Dixon Place. This Summer, in between all of the incredible Fort Salem shows, you can catch her directorial efforts at Hubbard Hall with Twelfth Night, All Shook Up, and Finding Nemo Jr. She would like to thank her partner, her cat, her friends, family, and most of all her parents, because she always forgets to.

  • Kelly Sienkiewicz (“Turn Back O Man” soloist)

    Kelly is elated to be returning to the Fort Salem stage after previously performing in The Rocky Horror Show (Usherette/Magenta, Co-Choreographer, Costumer), The Pirates of Penzance (Isabel), and Into the Woods (Florinda). Other credits include Boeing, Boeing (Gretchen), The Revolutionists (Marie Antoinette), She Loves Me (Ilona), 9 to 5 (Judy), The Wild Party (Kate), Barefoot in the Park (Corie Bratter), Young Frankenstein (Inga), Hairspray (Velma Von Tussle), Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins), Jekyll & Hyde (Lucy), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Missy; Suzy, choreographer), Heathers (Heather Chandler, choreographer), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), Nunsense (Sister Mary Amnesia, choreographer), and Legally Blonde (Elle Woods). Kelly dedicates all of her performances in memory of her mother, Kathleen, who inspired her love of theatre.

Meet the Creative Team

  • Courtnie Harrington (Director)

    SHE/HER | Courtnie is excited to be directing again! Courtnie is a Washington County native who trained at The Institute for American Musical Theater in New York City after graduating from Greenwich High School. While in NYC, she was the hair designer on Hudson Classical Theater’s productions of Pride and Prejudice (Lydia Bennet) and Sense and Sensibility (Charlotte Palmer). Recent credits include Songs for a New World (Woman 2) at SLOC and The Diary of Anne Frank (Edith Frank), Pride and Prejudice (Lizzy Bennet), Bright Star (Alice Murphy), I Love You Because (Marcy Fitzwilliams), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Peter Quince), and Into the Woods (Baker’s Wife) all at Fort Salem Theater. Courtnie also originated the role of Kayla Charter in Solstice: A New Musical last May with Company of Curiosities.

    Courtnie has served on the production teams of numerous shows including The Murder or Roger Ackroyd (Stage Manager) with iTheatre Saratoga and Spring Awakening (Stage Manager/Hair Designer), Footloose (Director), Corn! (Lighting Designer), Pirates of Penzance (Stage Manager/Lighting Designer), and Agnes of God (Stage Manager) at Fort Salem.

  • Dan Galliher (Music Director)

    HE/HIM | Dan is thrilled to be making his Fort Salem debut as music director and pianist for Godspell. Prior music-directing credits include Spring Awakening, Songs for a New World, The Wild Party, In the Heights, Cabaret, and Seussical, all at SLOC, as well as several shows with other companies. He is also active as an audition accompanist and a pit orchestra drummer. Outside of the theatre world, Dan can be found directing the middle school band and jazz band at the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk school district, fruitlessly rooting for the New York Giants, posting pictures of his meals on social media, and making puns so groan-worthy that they’re actually funny. Huge thanks to Courtnie, Kelly, Kyle, and the rest of the team for having him on board, to the cast for being ridiculously awesome, and to family and friends for so much more than can be contained in a biography.

  • Caspian O'Keeffe (Stage Manager)

    Caspian O’Keeffe is very excited to be working with Fort Salem Theatre! Other Stage Management Credits Include: As You Like It (Molloy University), The Pirates of Penzance, Sweat, Fun Home, Proof (Ithaca College), and Charlotte Lucas is 27 and Not Dead, Bomba and the Coquí, Prospect Hill (Piper Theatre).   • Charles J.I. Krawczyk (Resident Scenic Designer)

    Charles/Chuck (he/him) is a well-rounded artist with experience in creative writing, HDR photography, graphic design and 3D rendering, improvisational piano, original song composition and scenic design for theater. While attending Southern Vermont College 2001-2005 (bachelor’s in liberal arts) he worked summers at Old Castle Theater in Bennington, VT (2000 to 2005) where he learned, by observation, the creative nuances of set design as he worked as a stagehand. Charles is currently the Resident Scenic Designer and an Artistic Associate for Fort Salem Theater where, in October 2021, he debuted a design for The Diary of Anne Frank. In the 2022 season, he went on to design: Little Shop of Horrors, Steel Magnolias, Pride and Prejudice, Grease, The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition, Bright Star, I Love You Because, Spring Awakening, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Footloose, The Little Mermaid Jr., The Pirates of Penzance, The Rocky Horror Slow, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, along with designing Grant’s Ghost for Hubbard Hall on the side. Charles has also directed Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus in 2004 at his then-former High School, and The Glass Menagerie at Southern Vermont College in 2009.

    Prior to his work at Fort Salem Theater, Charles has over eight years of set design experience, artistic/stage directing, assistant directing and serving as a theatrical creative-solutions consultant (for a local high school drama club). Shows he has designed there include: The Diary of Anne Frank (2007), Once Upon a Mattress, Rumors, The Importance of Being Earnest, Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods, Twelve Angry Jurors, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, And Then There Were None, The Sound of Music, Noises Off, Shrek the Musical, and ended his run there with The Mousetrap (2015).

    After taking some time away from theatrical design Charles feels truly thankful and honored to reignite his passion for design at Fort Salem Theater and is very honored to have helped design Grant’s Ghost for Hubbard Hall’s current presentation. Charles is presently looking forward to contributing more in the near future as he gears up for Fort Salem’s 2023 season.

  • Margo Hatzel (Lighting Operator)

    Margo received a BA in Theatre and Speech from Wagner College. Her professional theatre experience ranges from fully staged musicals to new script readings to traditional Shakespeare. Margo recently returned to the theater as Stage Manager for Fort Salem Theater’s Into the Woods.

  • Kyle West (Producer)

    Kyle West (he/him) has three decades of creating award-winning theatre under his belt, working as a producer, director, choreographer, designer, and performer. His work has been seen all across the US, from Cape Cod, to Boston, Arizona and Dallas, to New York and has been recognized by the AriZoni Awards of Excellence, BroadwayWorld Awards, Column Awards, Annie Award, MET Awards, and MHSDG Awards, among others.

    Best known for creating larger-than-life musicals, some of Kyle’s credits include Hairspray, Next to Normal, Evita, White Christmas, I Love You Because, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, The Music Man, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, A Man of No Importance, West Side Story, Footloose, Into the Woods, RENT, The Rink, The Boyfriend, Schoolhouse Rock Live, Little Shop of Horrors, A Chorus Line, Chicago, Grease, La Cage aux Folles, The World Goes ‘Round, Cabaret, Pirates of Penzance, My Favorite Year, Annie, and Fame.

    At Fort Salem Theater, he has directed and choreographed Salem Under The Stars, The Marvelous Wonderettes, Next to Normal, There’s No Business Like Snow Business, Grease, The Pirates of Penzance, and Agnes of God, and has designed costumes for FST’s Pride & Prejudice , Grease, and Bright Star. He recently made his FST onstage debut in The Rocky Horror Show.

    Kyle is humbled to be the executive and artistic director of Fort Salem Theater, and in June 2023, was named one of the Top 10 New York State LGBTQ+ Leaders by I ❤️ NY.
